Naturotherapy

What is naturotherapy?

Naturotherapy is a gentle non-invasive way of healing that doesn't involve surgery or medicine, but instead uses energy from the healer to help the patient's body fix itself by finding balance.

Naturotherapy offers a comprehensive, personalized, and natural approach to health and wellness. It can be particularly beneficial for those looking for holistic ways to manage stress, pain, and chronic health issues, or anyone interested in preventive health care.

The benefits of naturotherapy

Mat treating a patient.

Naturotherapy is a holistic approach to wellness that focuses on using natural and complementary therapies to help improve your health. It combines different techniques to address a wide range of ailments.

  • Whole-Body Approach: Naturotherapy looks at your health as a whole, considering both your physical and emotional wellbeing. It aims to balance your body's energy and address the root causes of health issues, not just the symptoms.

  • Customized Care: Naturotherapy is tailored to you. Your therapist will work with you to identify the best combination of therapies based on your unique needs and health goals.

  • Natural and Non-Invasive: It emphasizes natural healing methods, aiming to minimize the need for drugs or surgery. This approach is gentle and seeks to support the body's own healing capacities.

  • Dynamic therapies: During treatments, the therapist will continuously assess your body’s reactions and change the approach as needed.

  • Preventive Health: Beyond just addressing specific health issues, naturotherapy also focuses on preventive measures, helping you maintain your health and prevent future ailments by keeping your body and mind in balance. The therapist will also help you make lifestyle changes that might improve your health outcomes.

Naturotherapy plus…

Complementary therapies can further aid in realignment or structural issues the patient may be facing. This leads to quicker and better overall results.

In addition, naturotherapy can work well with:

  • Osteopathy: Osteopathy focuses on improving the body's structural balance through manipulating the body’s bones, muscles, and joints. Combining it with naturotherapy, which may include energy work like Reiki, enhances the body’s innate healing abilities, potentially reducing pain and improving mobility more effectively than either therapy alone.

  • Physiotherapy: Naturotherapy paired with physiotherapy can lead to more comprehensive rehabilitation outcomes, especially after injury or surgery. Physiotherapy offers specific exercises and techniques to restore movement and function, while naturotherapy can help to manage pain, reduce inflammation, and balance the body’s energy, supporting quicker recovery.

  • Counselling: When someone is feeling upset or troubled, naturotherapy treatments like Reiki and meditation can help them feel better. These treatments work well with counselling to help improve their mood, feel mentally stronger, and make their recovery deeper and more lasting. This combination is good for helping people feel balanced and heal emotionally.

Combining these therapies with naturotherapy can provide a more comprehensive treatment plan. Talk to us about creating a plan that works for you to improve your overall health and well-being!

Our newest service: Tuning fork facials

Tuning forks used in some naturotherapy treatments.

Tuning forks are used to help you relax and bring your nervous system, muscles, and organs into balance.

The vibrations spread through your body and can affect your cells. When placed on certain parts of your face and around your eyes, the vibrations can tighten loose skin, reduce dark circles, and make wrinkles less noticeable. This makes your face look younger, brighter, and more toned!

Practitioner

Your questions about naturotherapy

What happens during a visit?

Each session, even your first one, will be designed specifically for your health concerns. At the start of the session, the practitioner uses Byosen scanning to determine which parts of your body need healing the most. They do this by feeling for energy changes like warmth or tingling, which helps them know where to focus the healing energy.

Throughout the session, the practitioner keeps checking to see how you’re responding to the treatment. This way, they can make sure the healing is focused just right for you, helping to get to the bottom of any health issues.

Will I experience any pain from a naturotherapy session?

During the session, you will not feel any pain. Most people just feel more relaxed.

Afterwards, you might experience some temporary discomfort for a few days as your body goes through the healing process.

Some people may have exothermic reactions like sweating, vomiting, looser stools or darker urine as the body’s natural way of eliminating toxins and damaged cells.

However, any discomfort should only last around 2–3 days as the body cycles through the treatment effects.

Is a naturotherapist the same as a naturopath?

No, a naturotherapist and a naturopath are not the same, although they both work within the field of natural health care. The differences lie in their training, the therapies they use, and sometimes the legal recognition and regulation of their practices.

Both naturopaths and naturotherapists aim to support health using natural and holistic approaches. However, naturotherapists typically focus on specific therapeutic practices and may not have the same level of formal medical training or authority to diagnose and treat medical conditions.

How many naturotherapy sessions will I need?

The number of sessions needed varies depending on the individual and the condition being treated. Some people may feel relief after just a few sessions, while others may require ongoing treatment to manage chronic conditions.

Is naturotherapy covered by insurance?

Coverage for naturotherapy varies by insurance provider and plan. Some insurance plans cover naturotherapy treatment, while others do not. It’s important to check with your insurance provider for specific coverage details.
