Introducing Amy Donaldson

Amy Donaldson is a Registered Social Worker (RSW) with the Ontario College of Social Workers and Social Service Workers (OCSWSSW). She has over 7 years of frontline experience and presently over 1 year in a supervisory role, in various areas such as mental health & illnesses, substance use and abuse, survivors and perpetrators of violence, survivors of Intergenerational Trauma, and Indigenous youth and families. She graduated from Algoma University in Sault Ste Marie where she obtained an Honours Bachelor of Social Work with a Minor in Law in 2016. Through professional experience she received training and attended educational courses to further her knowledge and awareness for mental health & wellness, recovery, trauma, substance use and addiction. She obtained her Opioid Use Dependence Treatment Certificate through the Centre for Addiction and Mental Health (CAMH) and is a certified facilitator in Cannabis Education for First Nations (CEFN) through Thunderbird Partnership Foundation.

She is a strong advocate for holistic wellness and believes balance with our mental, emotional, spiritual, and physical health is crucial in our healing journey.

In her practice she utilizes strength based and trauma-informed approaches working with clients to assist in identifying healthy goals and build positive coping strategies.

Some areas of focus for counselling sessions include, Depression, Anxiety , Substance Use/Misuse, Abuse, Addiction , Intergenerational Trauma , Survivors of violence , Perpetrators of violence , Anger, Management , Building coping strategies , Wholistic Wellness.
